Some of you may write anime reviews. I do! It's a fun thing to do and I feel that it's a good way to give back to this community. It's mostly a good bunch of people and I love writing, so it works out rather well.
Until I get review commentary like this: "You didn't get it." With a rating of 3.
Allow me to be blunt. Fuck you. What you mean to say is that "You didn't agree with my interpretation, so that's why I scored you low." Whether your interpretation is your very own or whether it's me against the world+dog, I don't give a shit. You are welcome to disagree, you are welcome to argue, and I have gotten 8s and 10s from people who love shows that I think are only moderately tolerable. You know why?
BECAUSE THEY RATE THE REVIEW ON ITS OWN MERITS, NOT ON WHETHER THEY AGREE WITH IT OR NOT. THAT IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE.
Am I clear on this yet? You do NOT rate someone's review low because you love this show and they slam it in a review. You rate the quality of the review first and foremost, and then if there's some question in your mind when deciding on a score, then let your (dis)agreement tip the scale.
This has been a public service message on behalf of reviewers who get fucking pissed when idiots downgrade their work because they can't get over themselves.
I need to rant.

First off, I'm a him, not a her. Don't call me girl ;p
Second, writers thrive on feedback. Good feedback helps you write better. Bad feedback such as "you didn't get it" is worthless and infuriating. It has nothing to do with what people think of me, I couldn't care less what these random gimps think.
Third, ranting is fun
