i just want to ask.
xtreme movie manager is a program which manages the movie and series collection one has.
i imports from different web sites like imdb movie info with different scripts.
there once was a script which imported from animenfo but they forbid any third party programs.

my question to the developer of anidb is:

is it ok building a script which imports from anidb. it wouldnt be much.
movie/serie description, # of eps and a pic.

here a link to the program. http://www.binaryworks.it/extrememoviemanager/index.php

atm there is no program which really helps to catalog your anime collection real good. perhaps some other here would like it too.

I guess not since the purpose of AniDB is to catalog your anime! ;)
By exporting your list with the use of different templates, the need for a 3rd party program becomes minimal...

let's just wait exp answer but don't expect too much! ;)

well,

I am quite strongly against any automated parsing of the anidb html pages.
However if there's enough demand i could think about adding a public api to query for parts of the anidb data (kinda like animenfo used to do it).

*edit*
just saw that the program is in no way anime related.
that would pose a bit of a problem, anidb is not ment as a simple resource anyone can query to get additional data.
it's ment to be used by anime fans to keep track of their anime collection.
I am not sure if i would approve the integration of automated anidb querying functions in non anime-related software.
