Rating Problem?

Post by serpagon » Mon Aug 13, 2007 1:10 am

For each anime there is a "Rating" and "Tmp. Rating".

I was just wondering if there was a reason when you click the "Rating" or "Tmp. Rating", the rating is different than what is on the anime page?

For example "http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?sh ... e&aid=4146"

Has a Tmp. Rating of 7.59 on the actual anime page, however if you click Tmp. Rating there is a Tmp. Rating of 8.26 instead.

I also just noticed that the number of votes differ as well.

I'm not sure if this was something that you were aware of or not but I just thought I'd let you know. Sorry if this was a waste of a post.

Yes, that is known....

The rating you see on anime page is calculated by some unknown algorithm that only AniDB developers know about.

The average on rating page is calculated by normal average algorithms.
