Regarding anime titles with stars ☆ and &#9733

I'd like more advices about how to deal with anime titles with stars. A search with ☆ or ★ will give you the full list. Here are some random examples:

* Happy Lesson
* Happy Lesson Advance
* Yuu Yuu Hakusho
* Injuu Gakuen La Blue Girl
* Injuu Gakuen La Blue Girl: Fukkatsu Hen
* Aishiteruze Baby
* Baby Love
* Lucky Star

First question
Which one to choose, ☆ or ★? I do not see much difference.

Second question
If an official English DVD cover or French DVD cover uses a star, should we:
a) add the star with the official title (English or French)
b) add the star with a synonym title only (English or French)
c) do not add any title with a star, except for Japanese titles

Third question
Is there any other special character we should add from time to time?
A smiley, a cross, a moon, a gun, a sword, an arrow, a key, ...

don't add them at all. those are merely styling stuff. which comes under the same rule as capping i.e. it's silly.
it's just a replacement for spaces. japanese never really got the concept of spacing

it's ok for jap kanji/kana titles, but for official english no way. same for japanese transcription
