Group Votes

Again I'm using the support forum ^^ (For the ones that didn't notice the last topic was created by me too :P)

Now I have a question of votes, not a problem.

I finished watching and encode made by Rakuda of Gift ~Eternal Rainbow~. so I decided to vote for the encode as well as write my opinion.

I voted and everything was just fine, but when I saw the graph of the votes and I noticed that there were 43 votes counted with an average of ~8.2 (calculating it by adding all the votes divided for the number of total people that voted)
But when I looked at the site it said that 41 votes were counted with an average of 6.86.

Why is it that the averages of the site are so different in comparison to the ones I made?
Was the way I calculated the average wrong?

Thanks for the time spent reading this :D and sorry if it's just an idiot question

AniDB does not use an average to calculate the vote, it uses voodoo magic. (that's the best explanation you'll get!)

But, my vote alters the result of the rating, doesn't it?

Despite of the fact that uses Voodoo Magic :D

Thanks.

The magic voodoo is all anime, and groups, get a big deduction for h-game adaptations.
