Make sure the image isn't any bigger than 80x80 pixels and is 6kb or less. If you need an image hosting service you can use a place like ImageShack where they'll host it for free.

If you mean adding an image to the body of your post, just put the URL of the image in the message, highlight the URL, and click the "Img" button. Make sure you preview your post before submitting to make sure you did it right. Also, keep in mind FAQ:Pictures.
