30 seconds = 0 minute or 1 minute?

Post by Amour »

I forgot and it is not written:
http://wiki.anidb.info/w/Content:Episodes

For episodes' length, shall we consider 30 seconds as 0 minute or 1 minute?

0minute = nothing
30s = something

something > nothing

Oh, so:
1s should be round as 1min because it's ain't nothing.
1:01 minutes should be round as 2 minutes for same reason?

as the db supports mm:ss and hh:mm:ss format, you should just add 00:01 (for 1s) and 01:01 (for 61s)

Amour... do you really need to ask everything?
Don't you have a little of common sense?
If it is 1 second then put 1 minute.
If it is 1 minute and 1 second then put 1 minute.

Having 0 is bad. And anyway fahrenheit gave you another option.

i'm guessing he's talking about the length of episodes on the anime page, it only shows minutes and anthing below 60s is shown as 0m...

So, DonGato rule for episode lengths is:
* 1s to 1m29s => 1 min
* 1m30s to 2m29s => 2 min
* 2m30s to 3m29s => 3 min
* ...

Is that ok for everybody?

Don't worry, I only care about episodes I added myself to the database. But they say “lame entry”, so I'm trying to fix it the best as possible.

episodelength is meant to use the rounded values mostly aka the "official" length

tv series are usually 25min per episode and stuff alike

anyway it doesn't matter much if the length differs by a min or not, 0 min for 30sec was just a bad choice
