I want to signal that since 2-3 days ago, the anidb.info pages
are no more visible by the browser "dillo 0.8.4" which I usually use:
now one sees only a page of binary characters which, saved and perused,
turns out to be the gzip-compressed html page.
Newest dillo 0.8.6 says also
"Content-Type 'text/html' doesn't match the real data".
I remember that this strange fact happened one year ago, and disappeared
spontaneously after 1-2 weeks. May you check what is happening ?
I would like to continue to use the dillo browser, which is the ideal
browser for small machines.

Don't use your dildo as a browser, use something that has enough sense to interpret gziped content (like, Firefox, Opera... pretty much anything, I mean, how hard is it to link a zlib dll... really...)

Edit: In a more proactive spirit, I was going to suggest you could send a message to the dildo webmaster, or mailing list, or even submit a patch yourself, to handle Content-Encoding: gzip - but... this browser doesn't even handle unicode? What a waste of space. Just use something made by people with some sense (which clearly wouldn't be gtk+ based, as well).

IIRC dillo doesn't even fully support css right?
so it would display anidb quite broken anyway.
and things will only get worse from now on.
i.e. the next version of the anime and mylist pages will rely heavily on javascript.

the problem you're having right now is expected. in order to reduce bandwidth usage and in order to get people to upgrade broken browsers anidb started to enforce gzip compression on all replies.
this decision is final and gzip compression will be enforced for a long time.
