Apparently you have tuned the Show Anime page.
I like it.
I did become rather slow after you upgraded the page with the new css layout.

actually we didn't :P
there are always ups and downs in user load and there are certain times where heavy background jobs are running, most likely that is what you observed, when anidb was slow for you.
the new servers are still not anywhere near their capacity limit :o)

PS: we are planning a major change of the anime page which will introduce new features and improve performance drastically though. But it is not yet clear when that will be finished.
