Animelength seems to be not shown correctly

Hi,
I just noticed that some animes seems to be a length of 0. I thought at first that there might be no length saved.
But if I look at the movie itself (for Example FID 52780) the length is shown at the infos.
It just looks like the length is only shown in the movie detailed infos (
http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?s ... 80&nonav=1)
I even don't know if it's a bug or if I have overseen something so I just be telling and do not get angry if its not a bug

It's not a bug I think. You can creq it if you want to.

well, the length of the episodes is not tied explicitly to the length of the files - some files contain more than one episode anyway, so doing it that way would be wrong from that point of view. but if you know that that file contains the whole episode and only that episode, you're very welcome to file change requests for the episode to update the length. and when the length is 0 it means nothing has been filled in, as you guessed.
if you want more information about filing creqs, take a look at the wiki:

episode length != file length as already said by suppy, in fact, the episode length info is obsolete since the day file length got implemented and it should be removed alltogether, dunno why we still have it

Primo: sometimes there aren't any files for episode (only generics). File lengths can be used, only when there are some files
Secundo: episode length is easy accessible, is showed in AniDB, but file length not - requires clicking on file link to see details (and length is well hidden inside them).

third..o: as I pointed out in my previous post: files can contain more than one episode, so they're not really a good measure of the length of the ep

If there are no files for an episode, then why would you want to know the length at all?
Furthermore, which 'episode' length would be correct to display? the original length in TV, including the commercials? The DVD lengths? They can all be different.
The length can be given once as an info in the anime entry as the time value remains more or less the same for all the eps

Differencies in lengths aren't that big. Few minutes more or less for some OP or ED, maybe little cut to fit in TV timeframe (who the hell will count commercials into episode length?), but still knowledge if episode has about 10, 25 or 45 minutes has some meaning.
I disagree with common length of episode for whole anime: there are special episodes which lasts longer than normal (eg: Bleach 63 episode).

so what if the special eps got longer lengths?
what do you do with that info?
