I just joined about an hour ago and I'm eager to offer what anime I have on my harddrive to the database, but..
Well, I'm pretty clueless on the meaning of most of the values that are listed to be filled out. What exactly are MD5 and CRC Sums? Additionally, how would I go about determining what Video and Audio Codecs the piece requires?
Thanks for putting up with my questions. Hope to do my part soon. ^_^
Could someone help me add files to the database?

MD5, CRC and the last part of an ed2k-link are all hashes/checksums - some kind of fingerprint of a file.
More info on CRCs: http://www.anidb.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=776#776 - you can use CRC32maker to check a CRC.
To find out the codecs of an .avi-file, it's best to use GSpot. It also works with .ogm, but it doesn't show the bitrates there.
Links to the two programs are at the upcoming link-list.
