I went on somebody else mylist:

There is an "Action" column with numbers ranging from 3 to 12. What is it?

That is the Files column, for some reason the label is missing. You just happened to pick a user that has multiple files per episode.

Yep, some users seem to want to put every file into their mylist (I guess they want to boost their statistics). I try to keep a 1 to 1 relationship, but I am usually off by 1 or 2 files (started getting files from another group, replacing speed subber files, ...). If I delete something I remove it from mylist, I don't mark the file as deleted.

It's just stupid as it serves no good purpose.
You want to know what you have (or have watched). Indexing what you never got or watched is just stupid.

Er, I've got about that many files, or perhaps more, for an episode in my list... and I did have all of them at one point or another.

I can see that for one or two episodes of a series, to see which encodes/subs are best, but some users appear to mark much more than that...

Often I get one entire release, then decide it sucks and get another, and maybe then another. :) Usually this only happens with big classic series like Eva that keep getting better and better releases, but not always. Also sometimes I'll start downloading a DVDrip and realize it's not complete, so then get another inferrior group or try to find a fansub for the time being, and get the rest of the good rip later. So, I don't think it's that odd to have multiple files for one ep.. although 12 seems like quite a lot.. :)
