kudos guys, the anidb is very comprehensive.

i tried looking for a function to mass add all episodes of a series to mylist but didn't seem to find it. be a pain to manually click the several hundred episodes that i've burnt to date

well,

you can expand all episodes in order to see all files on one page.
after that you have a checkbox in front of every file.
you can go through the files and check all files you want to add.
at the end of the page you have a mass add to own button to
add all those you marked to your mylist.

i see how it works, was opening a new page for each add instead of checking the boxes

I have episodes 34-62 of Hunter X Hunter and all of the OVA's episodes, I'm a freakin' newbie (in anime and in edonkey), can you tell me how to add those files? I need to know all the steps...

By the way, why do I have to register twice (once to the site and second time to the forums)? Why don't do one registeration for both of them?

have you read the files available in the "help/howto" section of AniDB.net?
(should always be read the first, however ATM there is probably no file which answers your question )

so a quick how to add a file guide:
- select anime in "anime list"
- if check if the eps and/or files you want to add are already there.
if the ep is there click the "add file" link at the end of the ep entry.
if the ep is does not exist yet click on "add episode" at the bottom of
the page and add it. After that add the file.
- after the file was added you can add it to your mylist by clicking on
the "add to own" link.

if you don't want to add the eps/files one by one you can use the "Mass Add" feature. if you don't want to add them to your mylist one by one expand all eps by clicking on the (+) next to the "all:" and use the mass add to own feature which is shown once all eps are expanded.

well, bc the forum and the anidb use completely different databases and are written in different programming languages.
allowing both to use the same user accounts would be a mayor hassle.

Wow, it's boring to add 28 episodes including links and episode name...
I will do it in a few days, couple every time...

use the mass add feature!
it is WAY faster than adding all files seperatly!
you'll need like 3mins for 28 eps+files.

Yes, I know I can do it, but in order to enter the episodes names I need to watch every one of them (around two and a half minutes) and write thier names. It's takes a while.

nope, just use "Episode XX" as title for all of them (with XX being the ep number).
you can enter the episode titles later if you want.
they can also be changed really easily from IRC via Chii.
that's the way we mostly do it. add them as "Episode XX" and later on while we watch them update the title via:
!seteptitle [anime] [epnumber] [new title]
