Punish a user

What DonGato suggested is that if the file was indeed not supposed to be in AniDB the user should instead add the file with the valid CRC to his mylist and mark the file as "CRC invalid" in the file's properties, which will only affect _the users_ mylist.Raptor wrote:There is also the little problem that generics files have not been implemented yet meaning that old files or corrupted ones from unknow sources need to be added even if they dont really belong in the database.
But I didn't know that that feature existed myself untill DonGato mentioned it
I don't really get what you said yet again.DonGato wrote:Well, if people don't know a feature just ask, but don't start blaming or saying is not possible.
Who blamed whom? Us blaming that guy who maybe did not know? And who should ask "people"? And who said something was not possible?
I feel like I missed half a conversation here...
Nope, I just didn't know this was possible.DonGato wrote:Just as simple as that, but it seems it was complex to understand.
I've been using AoM for 14 months now, it adds all the files I have to my Mylist automatically. That's the only way to know which files I really have.
Especially because I thrive to only have CRC unverified or CRC-correct files in my Mylist I'd never use the feature you mentioned. I'd add the correct file to my download and wait untill that one's done and then delete the corrupt one. That's maybe why I did not find out about this new option to mark files in your mylist corrupt.
Koukaku Kidoutai STAND ALONE COMPLEX, Episode 9, file id 97876.
Another user just added a crc-corrupt file to the database instead of adding the already present file to his mylist and setting the appropriate flag. Since the coward is hiding himself from me, would a mod please "advise" him on how to do this correctly? Thanks.

Sent him the link to How to add corrupted files... instead of yelling ^^
The mods need a "yourlist report" to find and follow-up on such items. Similar to the mylist reports this would allow mods to run these reports globally.wahaha wrote:I'd love to put these files on a watchlist (giving them 4 weeks or so) and then merge them with generic files if they still only have 1 user by then ^^;
