AniDB

hi,
my account started behaving strangely today: MyStats aren't displayed (they were before) and AnimeHint tells me "not enough votes - at least 30 votes are required" but I already have over 80 votes (they are still displayed in MyVotes) ....
Everything worked perfectly on my last visit, I really don't know what's going on...
All problems occur in MyPlace, MyList is still intact...
my account # is 61023, any help would be appreciated ...

if you see "db update in progress, stats unavailable" in the main page, you just have to wait for that to be gone so that those functions become available again, i suspect that the db update went wrong this morning...

It looks like the maintenance scripts had a problem. It should clear itself out in 24h.

I suggest stickying a thread called "No MyStats / votes or not enough votes for anime hint" with some generic info about the db update "bug". After the n-th iteration of posts similar to this one, it's beginning to get slightly annoying. ^^;

Symptoms: The "MyStats" box at myplace does not show any numbers. The link to Anime-Hint is replaced with a bold red error message saying that you haven't for enough animes yet.

If you are affected by this problem - don't panic. AniDB regularily compiles your mylist data into caches to make these two particular feautures work. Sometimes, something breaks and the caches end up missing the information that would be needed to make this work for you.

It's not a tragic thing, tho. Your mylist information is still there and, in fact, there is nothing anyone can do to fix this problem. Instead, it will be fixed automatically as soon as AniDB rebuilds those caches again, which happens once every 24 hours. Give AniDB a day to go through it's automatic maintenance again and your MyStats data and votes should be back to what they used to be.
