Is AniDB open source ?

1) Are the .pl sources of the AniDB website available ?
2) If yes, what is the license ?
3) If yes, can I use it on another website (a French one) ?
4) If yes, can I make modifications as well (translating, add features, ...) ?
5) If no, is the database of the AniDB website available ?

The reason of those questions :
- AniDB GUI is in English. Some people would like a similar database with a French GUI for example.
- All episode titles are in English. Some people would like the French titles for example.
- Some people find AniDB great, but some features are very slow to come out, so foreign devs might want to do their own language modifications if it was possible.
- If such a foreign language developpement was impossible, then we could maybe still use the current AniDB database to build a sourceforge project with very good multi-language tools.

1) No.
2) It's exp private thing, so there is no license.
3) Obviously not.
4) Dito.
5) No. However, I do believe that exp occassionally offers admins of other anime-related databases to link certain feautures together, as far as that is technically possible. You should probably consider sending him a private message. :P
