MyIE2 and anidb's notifying popups
Hello,
I have tried a lot to allow anidb pop ups from the notify option go through the pop up blocker of MyIE2, which is currently my browser. Still I did not get it to work.
Could anyone please help and give me instructions on what to do?
Because I don't feel like missing more and more notifies, thank you.

Normally, you should've received a message from MyIE that asks you to allow popups from anidb.ath.cx ("AD Hunter blocked the following URL ...").
Enabling "Don't block this URL in the future" would've been enough here.
However, if that message doesn't show up with the popup being blocked regardless, you have to allow it manually: Go to "Options" -> "AD Hunter" -> "Edit Filter Settings", click on "Exceptions List" and add ("+") "anidb.ath.cx" to allow all popups from anidb ( = notifications and messages - you can disable message-popups in your AniDB-

Like for messages with popups disabled, you'll have a "! X notify(s) !" right above the login-info (lower left, below the navigation menu).

Clicking on it will open the normal popup*.
*) This shouldn't be a problem even with a popup-blocker installed, since such obviously wanted popups are normally not blocked.
(EDIT: corrected notification-text and added image)

How to set MyIE2 to allow popups from AniDB:
- Under Options menu choose Setup Center...
- Select on Popup Filter in the list on the left panel
- Select on Exceptions List button at the top of right panel
- Select the + button at the top right corner
- Type in *.anidb.* [Edit: Actually http://www.anidb.net/* would probably be better.]
- Select the + button at the top right corner
- Type in */anidb.* [Edit: Actually http://anidb.ath.cx/* would probably be better.]
- Click OK

This brings up another strange issue though... After a popup has been displayed, I click on the link and it brings the Anime up in the next tab, BUT it does not load the images on that page... Even if I click refresh or click other links it still does not do it. If I copy the link and paste it into the address bar, it works fine, but just clicking on the link has problems. BTW, this started happening around the time the gzip was implemented.

Well, I'm still having those pop-ups besides being disabled and using FireFox, now who will fix it?Rar wrote:I might be missing the point, but if you're having any problems

you are disabled and are using FireFox or what exactly was your point now? *confused*
If you don't want notification popus, disable them in your profile. If you get ad popups then you might have spy/adware installed on your system. You can get rid of that by using "Spybot Search & Destroy" (Google it).
Any other popups can be turned off in Firefox via "Tools/Settings/Web Features". You can simply check the "disable all popups" checkbox there and nothing will pop up every again except you fill in the address of the site you want to show you pop ups into the area below the checkbox.
Pretty simple if you ask me...

No I'M NOT DISABLED, the notifications are disabled in my profile and even tho the pop ups appear every time a message is sent to me. Tried with IE, Opera and FireFox and all the same. Is not a browser/configuration problem.
What I'm trying to state is that instead of using the quick answer as "Rar" did he should learn to answer what people want and not whatever he likes to (as wahaha has been doing). What the user is asking is not an IE problem, just a MyIE2 misconfiguration.
And all your explanations were a waste of time... I already know all that and this what is happening to me is a bug in AniDB exp never found nor answered how to fix it.
