Trouble registering in Anime Reactor

Okay I am new, and I have searched, and I know it says problems related to Anime Reactor belong there, this is where my problem lies.

I tried to register on a number of occassions and all I am getting is an error message saying: General Error, Invalid-session. Nothing more, it just keeps happening. I was hoping someone here may have had the same problem and sorted it out, or that someone knows how to sort it out.

I did search, but could not find anything, and it may be my fault with the keywords I used. If it has been covered could someone point me in the direction of the thread.

If it is of any help I am using the inbuilt IE browser of my ISP which is AOL. If any more info is required just ask and I will give it to you.

I will be grateful for any help provided, as I need to get on and ask for reshares of the Yu Gi Oh Duel Monsters series in English for my cousin and all I am getting from my mule searches are Spanish, French or German.

Yes I do, I was just hoping someone maybe able to help me because this is where I saw this thread: http://www.anidb.net/forum/viewtopic.ph ... ba6d0f1436

Where I got the impression there was co-operation between the 2 forums. If I am mistaken then I am sorry to have wasted your time, and ask that those that can please delete this thread, but please do not talk to me as though I am thick, it is offensive.

Yeah I know that, it says so in the header of each webpage.

I just wondered why he asked here but found out that guest posting is not allowed on the AR forums and registering is mandatory.

So nevermind :)

It may help to allow cookies from "animereactor.ath.cx" (the same is true for "anidb.ath.cx", btw ;)).
Open IE outside of AOL, go to "Tools" and select "Internet Options". On the "Privacy" tab, near the bottom, click on "Edit". In the new window, enter the mentioned adress(es) and click on "allow".

wahaha, I unfortunately do not have the option of using IE outside of AOL, since the last security update from MS I was hammered with pop up ads even when IE was not open, so I had to block it in my firewall. Though I am set to accept coockies.

Der, thanks for the addy I have written and will wait a reply.

Thanks to both for your help.

You don't have to go online with IE or anything - it can stay blocked... just go to the options ;)
Anyway, about the popups: If you get the random blinking or in any other way "active" ads, get a program like Ad-aware to find and remove the spy-/ adware on your computer. If you get only text-ads with an "OK"-button instead, have a look at http://www.itc.virginia.edu/desktop/docs/messagepopup/.

Though, you could of course also give Firefox a try ^^;

Some posts above, you posted a link, which included the session-id in the URL. This normally only (not always, though) happens if your browser did not accept the session-cookie sent be the forum - which is why I suggested to do so.

Then I shall have a look at my settings again, as I assumed it was set for cookies as I am on other forums. If you say they normally appear only when cookies aren't accepted, I shall take you at your word and take another look.

My anti-virus finds and deletes adware and spyware, though it does ask me first.

EDIT: wahaha I have done as you said, gone to options, privacy, edit and added the 2 assresses you have given me, also added the animereactor address from the other post, clicked on allow, and I am still getting the Invalid session errors. I have also trid adding them to the trusted sites in the security section and still nothing. I am at a loss what to do next.

I fear I'm out of ideas how to fix it for IE... so all I can do is suggest trying firefox (see last post for URL), because:
  • If the same problem exists with firefox, there's something wrong with your proxy (or personal firewall)
  • If it works, it's a problem with some IE-setting, though I don't know which... -_-;

I shall give it a go wahaha and let you know.

But in the meantime the firewall is McAfee personal firewall, if that is any help. Though I am confused why I can register here and not there. Are they on different systems?

wahah, thank you for your help regarding the firefox thing. It worked, well I suppose I should expect trouble with MS stuff.
