Sheesh, don't clutter the not-even-yet-added documentation :P

I made that topic because there's a 3/4-ready version of it in the internal forum and exp needed a link to where the final version will be (to use it on the addfile-page).

(PM exp if you want to be added to AniDB Docs ;))

I think all documentation should be done by wahaha. You are good at it and besides you propably already answered so many questions that you know what needs to be adressed.

But maybe it's a good idea to involve Rar so I can start picking on his documentation skills.

*thinks*

I guess I should write a HowTo about CREQing stuff :-)

:D Just winding you up.

I think telling wahaha he has to write all the docs is a little unfair...

You should definately do a creq one Skywalka, how many have you sumbitted now? Probably only beaten by AOM. :)

Thanks for the compliment, but... what Rah wrote ^^;

Some questions that could be answered in it:
- Why anyway?
- What can be creq'd (see Sticky in DB Change Req) and where?
- What to put in the creq-comment-field? (*not* repeat *what* you changed)
- How to request other things (synonyms, genres, relations)/When to use the Forum?

In other words: I hope you do write it ;)

On the completed version of How to add new files to AniDB - very nice work wahaha, perhaps it would be useful to have some reference to other methods of adding files to the database (to be linked in when those bits are complete).

I'd like to see an AOM guide, and would write it myself were it not for the fact I'd miss loads of stuff. So come on then PetriW! :D

How about making a draft of your guide(s) and simply let PetriW comment on what might be missing? ;)

Yeah I could do it I guess but then again with AoM in place I really think documenting the features of AoM is a higher priority for me (I knew them).

The reason is simple - before AoM I filed 3000 CREQs, since it's been available I filed about 150. It simply took over all my work (and deleted all the additional info I added to my Mylist file entries, but what the heck) and it now takes care of adding hashes and everything all on it's own without any further work to do. It really needs a thorough documentation more than the creq feature of AniDB (and since I am not an AniDB Mod I don't really care whether the users add good creqs or not, I don't get into contact with those) :-)

Wahaha already wrote down some points he wants adressed from the admin point of view - since I don't know anything about that side I guess I could only produce a half-decent version how to add CREQs.

And in the end the main sentence would still be "... but no matter what, if the admin who takes care of your creq just broke up with his girlfriend forget everything I just said about writing a good CREQ, you're doomed anyway" :-P
