I had to change e-mail today, so I got same problem. Now I seem to understand why that happens. If auto-login data is still being held in cookie, no matter what you click, even "Password reminder" - AniDB first tries to authorize you with expired data. Of course it fails and doesn't send you new password because of that. I just killed cookie associated with anything *.anidb.*, tried to login again, clicked password reminder and everything went fine.
