What happens to unused pictures?

Hello,
I uploaded a picture but I don't need it:

How can I remove it? Will it be automatic after some time?

Space is not an issue, nothing happens to them. The URI will rotate occasionally to frustrate link stealers, though, so no holiday snaps please, use imageshack or something instead.

AFAIK, hot-linking is forbidden (besides some allowed hosts like ar forum) so the link rotation shouldn't be needed anymore.

If it's forbidden, the forbidding doesn't work, I know of several sites that have hotlinked anidb images.

no it's not forbidden by any technical measure atm.
we take care of this issue by simply changing the name of the image server whenever the amount of hotlinking becomes too obvious in the usage statistics of the websever. :P
