Innocence subs.

Post by dub »

I just downloaded Innocence - KAA rip - File ID 77211

It clearly states that this version has english subs... yet when I play the movie it does'nt have any.
I'm playing the movie in Media player classic. as this is the only program I know that plays .mvk files.
The subtitles option is inactive/greyed out.
Where/how can I get the subs for this release!

(Sorry if this post is in the wrong forum)

cause these are softsubs, you need VobSub directshow filter to display the subs and also... most if not all the media players can play .mkv, you just need a mkv aka Matroska splitter

So I downloaded VobSub, but from what I understand (which is next to nothing) it needs subs... which I dont have.

What do I do with the Matroska splitter file?
I donwloaded a file called Matroska splitter release - which gives me a file called:
Matroskasplitter.ax
what do I do with this file!?

This is all real complicated... all I want to do is watch a movie...

Matroska and VobSub can be found in one packet from http://packs.matroska.org/ (first result of google :wink: ).
Matroska Lite would generally do the thing, but that Full Pack would be an option too.
Those packets have an installer, so you don't need to fork your register or install splitters manually. Makes things easier. For 'Splitters-only' that lite-version would be fine. 8)

Thanks for that link - I can now open .mvk 's with my normal player. Thats a bonus. But I still can't see any subtitles.

[edit] I can now see the subs in Classic Media player but not in my default player - BSplayer. Any ideas what I would have to do, to get them to work in BS Player?

BS player never shows up in my system tray.

you'll get the green arrow in your system tray if you open a video file that has soft-subs... if the green arrow doesn't appear (I know it has to appear cause I tested it with BSPlayer) then um.. I dunno... something's wrong :P
I personally use ZoomPlayer, which doesn't generate a system tray icon, but you can change the audio channels and subtitle setting just by right-clicking the zoomplayer window

i use k-lite mega codec pack 1.03 for about half a year, and NEVER had a problems playing ANY file, or viewing subs. so i really recommend this pack. it comes with bsplayer and media player clasic (use this one for dual audio, or subbed files).
before installing this pack be sure uninstall any previous packs or codecs!
good luck :)

@nwa
I've never seen any sys tray icons for BS Player. (been using it for over a year now, various versions too...)

@wickdCLOWN

K-Lite mega pack is what I am using. If you read up proerly, you'd see I am using BS Player.
I've never had any form of codec issues before either. I've been able to use .mvk files before using Media classic.
It's just these damn softsubs that are causing me grief.
Well, not really as I could use Media Player classic to watch innocence now if I wanted.
I just fancy watching it in BS player as I can adjust the brightness level (which I can't in MPC) and most movies are a touch dark on my PC.

the icon isn't a BSPlayer icon but DirectVobSub icon.. if you installeed DirectVobsub, it should appear whenever you play a video file that has soft-subs, if it doesn't have soft-subs, it won't appear...

So if you have directvobsub properly isntalled and the directvobsub icon doesn't appear in system tray... then I dunno what the problem is since I almost never use BSPlayer...
