What kind of problems do you have exactly? Considering that UTF-8 fully preserves ASCII <127 there shouldn't be anything serious. Most OS I know have either built-in or widely available libraries for UTF-8 based output, so that shouldn't be issue as well. UTF fits well in URLs in case of GET request...

Not that much, actually, since you can automagically convert all files with "joint group" tags to files with two/three/more different groups.

At least IE does just that

I don't know if it's equally simple to e.g. search the database for UTF-8 encoded titles. (Shouldn't be a problem tho, if browsers submit form values as UTF-8.) IE submits everything in currently selected encoding - just look at my first post - it was typed after selecting UTF-8 in IE. If I didn't ...

JFYI

JFYI: All (ok, 99%) japanese CDs and DVDs have such ID numbers. For example, first DVD for Koukaku Kidoutai STAND ALONE COMPLEX is BCBA-1391. You can enter it in search on http://www.amazon.co.jp or view it on Neowing (known as CDJapan to those who speak english).

Of course file should be counted for both groups. And when I said "stats", I've also meant "subbed anime list" in my first post. Right now if I want to find all releases by some group I'll miss joint releases, unless I look in those "combo" stats. As of number of groups...

Change encoding to UTF-8 [DENIED]

It would be good if encoding were changed to UTF-8. That would allow to add japanese names as synonyms, as well as other official synonyms in other languages, like "ΑΠΗΕΝΤΟ ΣΟΜΑ" for Argento Soma or "Пламенный лабиринт" for Labyrinth Of Flames. (BTW, last one already have that sy...

More than one fansubber group for files [tracked]

I'd like to have ability to specify more than one fansubber group for files. The way it is right now - adding "combined" group is just ugly and ruins statistics for groups.

Option for user to hide ep. titles everywhere [tracked]

I'd like to have option for user to hide ep. titles everywhere on AniDB - sometimes they tell too much. Same goes for anime descriptions.
