exp, the problem is not disabling js, but the whole issue of support for it. js is inherently tied to a particular browsing idiom, which clashes with the intended purpose of the web. specifically, it's intended for someone accessing the page with a visual, gui-based browser and a mouse. many of the ...

For the record, I don't care at all about notify. I'm talking about the popups for group comments, genres/categories, etc. Although I think there's something in the file adding that needs JS too in order to prevent loading all the group names in one dropdown box. Maybe for that a way to just type in...

The level of ignorance and malevolanece towards users of non-JS browsers here is really ridiculous. Elias, have you looked at the uses of JS in AniDB? Essentially it's just for openning popup windows, which could be done just as easily with target=whatever. I would not mind if there were a few featu...

The point is it's a huge problem for the people who DO need it, and apparently getting bigger. Especially since these are exactly the same people who cannot use AOM. It's really not hard to include a few lines of fallback code for non-JS browsers...

Narrow search option [DONE]

It would be nice to have an option (in user prefs?) to do narrow searches, i.e. always match only a single hit when the search key exactly matches one of the names or short names of an anime. It's a pain searching for "nge" and getting all anime titles with those three letters in their tit...

I second this. None of the JS used on AniDB is actually necessary, and it could all very easily be fixed to work without JS while still supporting JS to "look prettier" or whatever crap in the browsers that do support it.

I don't really like stuffing them with messages. This feature could be a lot more useful along with votes/reviews, in my opinion. For example.. What if I want to sort all the reviews I've voted on by my rating? Or by their average approval rating? Or maybe I'd like to see which reviewers I have a hi...

Liking everything equally much is just admitting to having poor taste, but I don't think anyone can enjoy everything equally much. I never said anything about liking everything equally much. My point is that not all things are comparable. Say I have 5 bananas, you have 4 apples. Who has more? You h...

Make Export ed2k links respect lang preference? [done]

Currently the "export ed2k links" feature always uses english translations for the episode titles, but seems to respect the language selection for anime title (or else it always uses romaji?). Would it be possible to make it respect both settings? I like Japanese episode titles for my file...

I must say I think this request is stupid. Why should one have one particular favorite? IMO it's only possible to have a single favorite when you've only seen one particular style/genre, in which case you probably should not be voting 10 for anything... Besides, it would encourage more fake/duplicat...
