Maybe some of their servers are not up to par?
You could try to manually connect to a specific server, if you're having troubles using irc.synirc.net.
So far I didn't get any problems (though I wasn't online for very long).

well,

I am not sure if the mylist already supports shadow files, probably not.
Which means currently you'll see a joint episode as a single episode in your mylist and as multiple episodes on the anime page.
I might be wrong though.

well,

there doesn't seem to be much interest in this atm.
The general feeling seems to be that the AR awards are enough to cover the "annual-user-forum awards" category.

fahrenheit seems to be having problems too.

so lets assume we'd want to change irc networks, where would we go?

I still think that our own network would be an option. And I am still against rizon :P But another small irc network might be our best bet.

should be easy to fix that in the SVN for all exports, right? but the latest export version copies over images too IIRC. In that case the "correct" fix for this would be to delete all the image zip files and to extract them directly into the theme folders. That way all generated exports wo...

well, server load and traffic would be very low for an anidb irc network. The key point is that not all ISPs allow the hosting of irc servers. And we'd also need shell access to the servers in order to install and administrate the irc server apps. We'd probably offer an SSL encrypted port too, but m...

well, I too am not in favour of rizon. And as notoriously slow as we are when it comes to IRC network changes, I don't think it's likely that we'll get everybody to agree to a move until the current network dies completely :P Though if we'd find two people who'd be willing to provide us with access ...

Re: Rar

- More hashes. TTH, MD5, SHA1, CRC32. CRC32 would be very useful to creqers, and could be used offline with a regexp that pulls a release group's CRC32 out from the filename. The others have been discussed at one time or another as being used to uniquely identify files in AniDB proper, and so I sho...

Well, I agree that maintaining such a detailed category set for each anime is a lot of work. However, if "we" manage to deal with it (maybe we could clone baka-san if needed...) it offers a lot of nice possibilities. If the categories for an anime are set sensibly then a single glance at t...
