I would rather say that is alternate version.
As for prequel - timeline is correct, but is rather strange, when main characters of sequel have died already in prequel.

You can also try using mass update. It still requires preparing (via export ed2k hashes or mylist export) ed2k-hashes of files you want to add/modify comment/storage.

In your profile check for Guest: 'see my anime list'. Password can be used if you want to show your list not to anybody, but only to some known people. You can then set some password and give them link to your list (Passwd URL) with included password. If they are members of anidb better method would...
