Corbin's crazy ideas for OpenAniDB

The object of the game is simple. I'm bored, and bored me usually writes strange code that probably violates rules, ordinances, or FCC guidelines. Thus, I'm gonna write out ideas, and you guys are gonna shoot 'em down. (Or approve 'em, but that's unlikely.) Who I'm looking for: Staffers, since they ...

If ram or hdd space is a problem with aom... seriously just ask your parents for $50 and solve it... I just picked up a 1GB ram module for $35. My boxes are a Fedora-CCRMA pro audio workstation with 2GB RAM and a Gentoo laptop with 1GB RAM. Memory's never a problem, but it always disquieted me that...

Committed. God, that was a long week. Anyway, autologin works; I added an icon (and you can add one, too; just put a zero.xpm into your .oadb folder.) There are no outstanding bugs. Or, to rephrase, I haven't been notified of any new bugs. Or feature requests, for that matter. If you guys have 'em, ...

Edit: Committed. Thanks for the patience. In this commit: - APSW after 3.3.8 requires all Connections be close()d before, say, popping the stack and returning. This is now fixed both for people like me, on 3.3.5, and people on Fedora/Debian/Windows using 3.3.10 or 3.3.13. - The Anime Search tab has ...

Are there specific portability issues, or are you just worried about the ability of windows users to install dependencies? AFAIK, there are no outstanding wx bugs that affect me on Windows or Mac. In addition, winPython and wxMSW through Wine run just fine here. I was more worried about "I tri...

The OpenAniDB Client Thread

Edit: SVN 339 committed. Yay for user feedback! Hey, guys. My client is mature enough that it's not gonna kill your computer or kidnap your family, so I want some opinions, mostly on UI, since I'm more of an algorithms guy than a graphics designer. For those not in the know, OADB is a new UDP client...

*high five*

I was listing browsers that you should have already (unless you're a Gentoo ricer with XFCE, I guess...) Opera's excellent, but most people have sadly never even heard of it.

@edokun: It is definitely possible to import css-files from other folders, since i'm also doing that in my css. Well, it doesn't work for me and I can't figure out why. If I try to import css-files from other folders it doesn't work, but if I move these files to the same folder it works. 8O Note th...

Btw. we want to encourage client authors to checkin their source into the AniDB SVN repository from now on. So if you'd be willing to do that, please drop me a line and I'll send you the needed account data. BYe! EXP PS: and if you find an obvious mistake in the API DOCs or anywhere else on the wik...

Well, except for {int4 number of entries added} , which is actually {int4 lid} , it's all pretty straightforward. Caching works for all ids now, and I don't even have to make lid requests due to the ability to assemble the responses from cache on-the-fly. Thanks much for the help; I'll be cleaning u...

Sweeet. Going to go create a lid parser now, will let you know if it breaks in some (unexpected) way.

MYLISTADD broken?

From the wiki: NOTE: Currently this command does not update the internal caches of AniDB. Using this command will lead to wrong stats values/counts being displayed in your Mylist & co @ AniDB according to the Routine Maintenance. NOTE: Currently this command will replace all mylist fields this c...

There's a half-decent Sun Java VM with Web Start for Mac OS X, although it's not (in my opinion) reliable. Wine for Mac OS X is sort of an adventure in its own right, and I don't know if it can run AOM. (Also, if you're not running an Intel-based board, you're not going to be able to use Wine at all...
