Guess I'll agree with Skywalka here, at least to some extent. Many people consider Robotech nothing more than Macek's poor parody of originals, especially outside US. (And I'm one of them too, heh. Macek will burn!) And while on this topic, I wish to bring up again this issue . I firmly be...

So, can someone with good english and style compose it into one list and then pass to exp for adding links to it everywhere romaji is used? If there's anything more to add - it always can be added later.

Wa-puro

"Wa-puro ro-maji", or "word processor romaji" is exactly what you would type in wordprocessor to get kana from it, so except suggested and common "ha ->wa", all other particles should be exactly, as you type them on keyboard を = wo, へ = he.

Re: ''Romaji, Hepburn''

literally transcribe long vowels (ああ=aa, おお=oo, おう=ou, ...) write the particle 「を」 as "wo" always write 「ん」 as "n" ("sempai" -> "senpai") This is so called "wa-puro ro-maji" and I completely agree with you that it would be good if this variation will be prefred one (or only one) on AniDB, with only...

BTW, about sizes. I really hope that hases are not stored as strings in AniDB, aren't they?

That's exactly why I'd like to have some sort of set policy for such things - because right now it varies from title to title (and as I've said already, I prefer "specials" solution).

Not related to this change, but shouldn't policy for such thing be documented somewhere? Things like should TV/OVA that have numeration like last TV: ep.17, first OVA: ep.18. should be split or not (IMHO, they shouldn't) and like.

Have you ever found a problem by using CRC-32?! I had problems with stupid people, who think that if they have corrupt file that doesn't match crc32, all they have to do is to flip few bits to make it match, corrupting file even futher - just search google for such "checksum fixers". It's (almost) ...

as for Brave Soule, since some intro/outro of GAMES already existe in the db, i though it was ok that add that intro, which is just like any anime intro, but its for a game (if i didnt have told you it was a game you wouldnt have know...) Are you talking about files listed as "specials" for anime b...

Method names are one thing; what they do, precisely, is another. I wouldn't normally advocate reinventing the wheel, but in this case it's a very small wheel and the code would likely have worked with all input on the first attempt. It is not module error - it was my error that I forgot that UTF16 ...

Why bother writing something that is already done, every time you need some conversion, especially if module that does conversion is common one and present almost everywhere?

Anyway, that, of course, is correct solution. s should been there from the begining.

Well, converter changes only non-ASCII (higher than 127) symbols, so it works as expected. I don't think symbols like " or < > should be handled in converter, instead AniDB should change them, since they can appear in non-unicode titles as well.

Seems like it was common agreement that because all DivX is VBR, there shouldn't be separate DivX? and DivX? VBR entries for video codecs, but nothing happened since then and this thread silently sunk to bottom...

So I'm bumping it up.

See episode titles in japanese [DONE]

Now, when japanese and romaji ep. titles are added to DB, I want my lang. preferences to affect how episode titles are displayed in mylist and at individual anime pages.
