Removing the top10 list might indeed take care of the problem more effectively than any other measure. Half of the top10 series are also in most users list. Naruto would make sixth if the tempvotes were permanent. Of the four other in most users list, Eva's vote distribution follows the fanboy-curve...

Please don't drag Robotech into this, Amour.. I can't forgive Macek for it, but it's still anime just as much as any US adaptation is. While most US adaptations are just on the order of bad voice acting and a little paintjob to fit something to wanted rating, there are cases like Armitage III Poly M...

I believe I might have used 7.5 and 8.5 if they had been available to differentiate a little more in the 7-9 range. But already a 10 point scale is a lot.. If I had given out 7.5's and 8.5's, they wouldn't really be that accurate. When I look at my votes, sometimes I feel that I should lower votes o...

Welll.. I still maintain that if you indeed have >10% 10s, your voting habits aren't suitable for use in statistical analysis without some form of normalization, or you haven't seen enough to judge the titles in meaningful way. Really, I don't even expect bell curves here. Just that you won't give m...

[ADD] generic type: LD [DENIED]
Subject says it all
I've got anime LDs and would like to class them as such instead of as dvds in the generic file type.

We definitely do need to take into account the vote distribution. Otherwise lists like OnegaiNL's old list (a hundred and something of 10s only) would qualify while it definitely should not. That kind of vote distribution is absurd and not meaningful to the least. Also, that filter wouldn't even aff...

Not being counted for top10 or anime hint lists doesn't mean you can't vote what you want to. Also, if you've only seen a few animes and they happen to be the very best of the best, I'd really wait until you have seen a little more before considering your votes valid. Now, do you remember what the v...

@OnegaiNL If you've read the vote descriptions, you should understand what a 10 is. 20% @10 is just too much. My problem with tens is that I'm not sure which of the 7 ghiblies to drop to 9. They're quite different, so it's hard to pin them against eachother.. Another thing is that rating movies and ...

As a fellow girl (don't mind the beard), I'd assume age would be much more important factor than gender.. Of course true otakus will watch it all, though. Even if I too would be interested in anidb user demographics and their mylists, wishlists, blacklists, and votes by different demographic paramet...

OK - it's possible to have files before the item premieres (whether theatrical, TV, or OAV), and thus it should be possible to add files before premiere date. Maybe better than deny such action would be to warn the user that maybe the premiere date is wrong or the file isn't the actual release, but ...
