Just noticed that a review of mine which got an 8 and a 6 has an overall score of 5.5, could I ask what is the reason for this is? there could be some sort of vote normalization going on. e.g. I generally try to give anime votes so that an average series that I've seen would be around 7.5 (it has d...

Occam's Razor? Yeah, well without being able to see the mechanics of the new system, we can't judge what is simpler and what is more complex. True, the old system was just about as simple as they get, but take Newtonian physics for instance. Its simpler then Relativistic physics, yet its not more c...

I also believe that its still better then how it was, but unless this is an intermediate stage its still a loss as there are other ways of accomplishing the same thing. Perhaps. One thing is that between two systems that produce essentially identical results, I'd always take one that is simpler and...

Well, after a few days it does not look like the new system is much different after all, judging by the top 10 at least :) I also see 5 animes out of the top 10 tied at 8.67 and three more at 8.69 as a problem, I think the old system provided more variance. and I think it is wrong when a situation i...

Yes, we could tell you. No, we're not going to. (And KAA happen to be pretty good among dvd rippers, which admittedly isn't saying much. Recent KAA anyway.) Speaking about groups, I think there is definitely a problem: you've got the first place occupied by WF/KAA, who made all of 4 episodes of one...

hey, all numbers mean *something*. Even knowing that anime A has a larger number of rabid fanboys compared to anime B is useful :) Even when it's a larger number of ONE fanboy? ;) Perhaps what counts here is an integral coefficient: (Number)*(Rabidness). If an anime attracts one rabid enough to reg...

Surely no system is immune, regardless of whether it is known or not. still it should be possible to design a system that while being open would require a good deal of (probably easily detectable) effort to stuff the ballots significantly. I can think of a few possibilities related to weighting and ...

I have a mixed impression. It's nice to see Nausicaa in the top 10, on the other hand some other titles still puzzle me. But there were quite a few in the old top 10 too, not everyone's tastes are similar, so I can't really complain. It would have been better imo to design a system which would have ...

Is there any way to remove a mistakenly added subtitle field from a RAW file entry?

500 *characters*, not words. Hell, you could just stick some spaces on the end. Rar Gotcha, thanks :) Sorry, I did realize it was 500 characters. And I see where it comes from and why now. Still, 500 imo might be a little too high... even 300 is still more than someone who just wants to say smth li...

It is possible to write shorter reviews (that's 80 words), provided you don't mind other people 'voting' them worst-thing-ever-written. 's actually much harder to write a decent short review than a decent long one, so encouraging people to write shorter reviews doesn't really make more people write...
