Unless they only released one or two files, please add a group entry for each of them - if they tagged their releases, they should aswell get a tag on AniDB. Thus I guessed that the "sub-group" object in the aniDB database would probably the best way to express this relation, although the ...

I wonder who was the illuminated that started moving to specials back then. Having external ("no group") subtitles in the same ep didn't make sense until after file comments were shown directly on the file listing. Since it's now possible to quickly find out which files belong to e...

On the "Messages" page, even after reading or deleting all new messages, does it still show "! X msg(s) !" below your username on the left? If not: Instead of clicking on a link on the mainpage, use the "search" function with a random string (like 'lsyviu' - it doesn't ...

Did you use the "back" function of your browser? If not: In what order did you move from page to page?

I didn't talk about cg in general, but rather this one specific case of a 3dcg movie whose character-style is far from regular anime-style . I really don't know what's so hard to understand in here. It's perfectly fine to argue that Advent Children fails at using anime style, but nobody ever suggest...

Maybe you use some kind of proxy (or personal firewall) inbetween that doesn't support the forced compression anidb.info requires. Disabling/changing the proxy and/or personal firewall will probably make the page show up again. (That's of course no solution , but it can help finding out where exactl...

Re: Higher Standard for Anime? Better rating system?

The per-file quality rating may help showing big differences in quality, but mostly people will just choose "high" for current fansubs; that can't really be helped, since there are just way too many files to rate each one in more detail. The current (better, but sadly underused) method for...

Re: Idea for a client - need advice

my questions is this - does the UDP client have the ability for me to drag the AniDB information I am looking for across (series name, episodes, last aired, synopsis, actors, etc)? The UDP API offers only very limited access to AniDB's data; it mostly exists to catch notifications and add local fil...

Pure CG that's too far from regular anime-style - plus too big US-involvement to overlook this. That's what lead to its previous removal (AFAIR, that is). At that time Advent Children was left in because of its more obvious anime-style. ANN lists it as "not anime but related". (Just mentio...

It may have been related to having a few different browsers open and having both logged in ? Sure. If you want to use auto-login in more than one browser (regardless of whether they're on the same computer or not), you have to use the extended login form* and activate the "keep cookie" op...

IMO, it'd be enough to "link to a forum post with animations that isn't anime" (+ some explanations) on the add-anime-page.

To answer "why": I guess you hit a maximum title length restriction there... while a 50-char-title gives no error, a 51-char-title does.

How about sending those who added lame files a reminder after a while (e.g. 2 weeks), asking them to add the missing hashes to their file-entry? Preferrably a single message with a link to http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=mydb&do=files (instead of one message for each file ^^) Such mes...

2) Leave them "stalled" - can't be helped.

3) Sounds useful, so: yes.

For the curious: A is "Dragoon-no-Fansub", B is "Nihon-MangasAnimes" and C is "Sub No Kokoro".
