In my experience gspot does in fact distinguish between VBR and CBR, I haven't found any other software that does the same.

In that case, might I ask that someone with edit permission try and sort out the mess in Spirited Away?

CDs 1 & 2 have same filename [CLOSED]

This may be an issue for other movies as well, but for Spirited Away, all of the 2 disc sets that were added as the same episode have the same filename. For example, the two CDs for the DVL rip, FIDs 2937 and 2938, have the same filename - when I downloaded them separately I couldn't tell which CD w...

%T = total number of episodes, 0-padded --> 0-padded to what ? The total number of episodes ?? See how it's working in the html-lightblue template. When an anime has 100+ episodes, episode numbering is filled with 0s... like 001, 002... If there are 10+, 01, 02... and if only less than 9, 1, 2... T...

The two groups subbing GITS:SAC, Ani-Kraze and AonE, have stopped releasing episodes at the publisher's request. AK stopped at 19, AonE stopped at 22. Now we have to wait for Bandai to release the subbed DVD's and we'll get some DVDrips to finish the series (that or some fansubbers with less scruple...

Maybe we should change the text then from "crc matches official source" to something like "hash matches official source"?

Comments [DENIED]

Maybe we should add a 'comments' option in addition to the reviews. I often feel like I have a little something to say about a series, but I don't have enough to write a review. I think this would discourage short/incomplete reviews, while allowing everyone to get a word in. Cons, of course, are tha...

Here's my random thought on genres: Some of them seem much more important than others. For example, "Action" seems a lot more important than "Martial Arts", which is basically a sub-category of action. My suggestion is to have major genres and minor genres, which could even be gi...

Edit: Never mind, screw it, I don't know why I keep pushing this. There are much more important things to work on. In fact, you guys should probably move those much more important things to other threads.

Meh! Microsoft tried to do that with Windows, and I'd rather not want to see AniDB go down the same way, being all bubbly, candy and tele tubbies, with assistants, wizards and hint popups everywhere. As a linux user, I completely agree. On the other hand, I would never dream of selling a piece of s...

At the same time, though, an effective system should have plenty of room for the idiocy and laziness of the general population. The point is not to say that 'intelligent people will vote correctly', but rather, 'how can we make the system idiot-proof?'

I agree, and I also have no interest in nitpicking over a few users. BUT, my point is that I can neither sort by most viewed nor most downloaded. Yeah, ok, so there wouldn't be much difference between the two, but can I see the list sorted by one of them? And I like 'myqueue', saves having to make t...

First of all, a wishlist feature would be cool. Second of all, @Gambit: I believe that's exactly the opposite of what DonGato said - most downloaded is not necessarily most watched. Additionally, there really isn't a most downloaded stat available either. Personally, I think either one of those woul...

I'd say the messaging system is adequate if you really want to comment on someone's review
