More interestin' stuffs from rafal, I'm sure you can find some much longer 'words' in the j-j dicts than my hasty internet check managed though, if you have a good poke. Perhaps, but I don't see why you can't use this as a general rule though. Long entries can always be looked at seperately. Btw, 長...

All right, I did a little research, asked around and my findings were: Like Rar said earlier it's hard to define what exactly a word is in Japanese and there's no absolute and definite way to find out. However, currently one common and somewhat accepted method is indeed the 'dictionary entry'. The e...

Ok, so there are indeed some entries in dictionaries which need some spacing if you're going to romanize them. Taking the first one of your examples, I would romanize that one as follows: 長距離電話会社 --> Chou-Kyori Denwagaisha = long-distance phone company I'm pretty sure 'Denwagaisha' should be written...

All pornography you can buy here is targeted at men, regardless the specific theme. That's probably because the market for lesbians who buy pornography is irrelevant here. So, I was wondering why there seem to exist one in Japan. I think you can answer your own question already: not all porn in Jap...

Could you please list some characteristics for Josei then? http://josei.biography.ms/ This is semi-offtopic, but could you explain why the Japanese society thinks that the primary audience for Yaoi are women? For the same reason why lesbian material is primarily targeted at men in your society. Wil...

I guess you haven't seen Ebichu. Please do so, then come back and tell me again it's aimed at women... I have seen the first two episodes like two years ago and I say its primary target are (single) adult women. Ebichu was also published in a josei manga magazine, which means that the manga's prima...

I forgot to mention one more target audience in my post above: Seijin 成人向けアニメ [/size] Anime aimed at adults only (18+). Hentai anime. 18禁アニメ. As for my own thoughts about this, the basic classification seems fine to me, but I'm not sure if we should stick to the Japanese terminology used here. 'Kodo...
