the same window vs new window

wasn't it better when other sites (like anime-planet or even this forum) were opening in a new window? now i have to force myself to learn pressing "shift" whenever i want to go to any of them

Not really, it's easier to press shift to open in a new window if you want it there than to make it open in the same window with the old way.
Ayway, I prefer the new way as you may realize.

setting the middlemousebutton to open links in new tabs in firefox wins anyway
