[DISCUSS] Files: Unknown Status

I found a topic about the generic file status, here:

Which since it was in the archive, I wanted to pose a thought. The 'unknown' icon is semi-misleading. If a person picks a further option such as "on dvd" "on vhs" ... the status really isn't "unknown". Granted this is just a technicality ... however, if the DVD, and TV status is displayed on the actual Anime page ... why wouldn't it be displayed on the mylist page?
In the other forum topic, I don't agree with the "dvd movie" idea. Though I think that there should be some order of priority when an item has an "unknown" status. That if said item is unknown but the additional information is set, then the appropriate icon would replace the unknown icon on their mylist page (priority == dvds, vhs, tv, then theatre). Also, it should be the same for generic files. Whereas instead of replacing the unknown icon, if the file is generic it would replace any and all icons. In other words, if a generic file is marked as "deleted" but they have it as "on dvd" then only the on DVD icon shows. This would only be the case for generic files.
Since I can't imagine a person really has a reason for validly choosing a generic file and marking it as deleted, and yet still having the additional information. If a person chose a generic file, because they don't know which file they downloaded ... I don't see them picking "on dvd", etc for that matter. If they did ... then it still makes sense that it takes priority. I don't think more items should be added to the status. I just think that if the icons already display on the Anime's page, I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be displayed on their mylist as well.
